The Peyton Anderson Foundation of Macon, GA is the result of one man's determination to repay his community for the success he achieved during this lifetime. Peyton Anderson grew up in the newspaper business and was the owner and publisher of the Macon Telegraph and News from 1951 to 1969. When he died in 1988, the bulk of his fortune was left to form the Peyton Anderson Foundation to assist the citizens of the Bibb County community. Each year, 10 to 15 renewable scholarships of between $2500-$7500 will be awarded to graduating seniors of Bibb County high schools.
